EOS 1Ds, 17-35 @ 16mm, 1/50, f/16, ISO 200

We had some time to kill before our much delayed flight from the Pribilofs back to civilization in Anchorage. So we took a van out to the western part of Saint Paul Island while we were waiting. I had everything packed except for what I could easily get to which was a 1Ds and Greg's 17-35. While messing around above the cliffs, I decided to do a freaky wide angle distortion shot of Greg Downing - this was taken at minimum focus distance at 17mm. The image is unaltered digitally. It did take us 5 tries before I got this because we were laughing too hard.

Maybe instead of a Sci Fi channel special, how about the following:

The ever present curiousity of the rare species, Photocus Leaderus Tourguideaii presents photographers with superb close-up shots due the the species incredible lack of fear and inhibition amongst camera toting tourists.

Just another thought..
