The first time I used my fishermans float to shoot retrievers jumping into the water, I misjudged how far Kuda would jump and I got soaked. I have found that I really enjoy shooting the dogs from this angle although I have a lot less keepers when they are coming at me, especially through taller grass or on a high bank, than when I can follow focus from the shore before they jump. But regardless, I really enjoy trying to get this type of shot. The owner of this dog enjoys our shoots because Kuda has been in at least 10 calendars in the last few years-he is photogenic wet or dry!

Canon EOS3 with 100-400IS handheld from float, Sensia 100.

Very nice action shot. I like how the front paws are above water.
