Birders at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.

Not having seen a thing worth photographing after a walk through Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, I was heading back to the car, and this scene caught my eye.

Inglewood Bird Sanctuary is a lovely protected area just east of downtown Calgary. 3 KM of trails and several ponds are home to plenty of Canada Geese, many species of ducks, and countless other species.
The building in the background is Colonel Walker House, a historic building.

I wish I had known about this place. Several times I have found myself in Calgary wondering where I could shoot some birds. this looks like a very nice and peaceful spot. I like it.

Nice shot. The composition is very nice. The people on the dock help the image a lot.

Next time you're in town, let me know, although you probably know more good spots areound here than I do :)

Spring and fall can be quite good. Many species of warbler pass through, Inglewood. Canada Geese and Mallards in the hundreds, Mergansers, Wood Ducks, and Loons as well.
MuleDeer, Whitetails, Coyotes (rarely seen), porcupines, and Weasels are regulars as well.

It can be a bit dead mid-summer though.

I first started going there for deer, then started to get an interest in birds.
