The Roman Catholic church (name not noted) at Fulford on Salt Spring Island, BC. Saw this as we were driving from the ferry, and knew I had to go back later for a picture.

Canon 5D2, 24TSE2, polarizer, HDR. (Cropped a bit because some rotation was needed, but also to cut out most of some shadows from power lines that were across the bottom.) Processed on my laptop, so I hope it's okay.

Cute little church with some fine blue sky Paul -- interesting proportions, and the stone construction is certainly distinctive. Glad you made the trip back for a pic! :)

Such a pretty and pristine little church! I can see why it caught your 'photographic' eye, Paul!

Sweet! A very pretty church, beautifully captured. So quaint- is it common to see these in BC?

Well Salt Spring Island is a unique place, but there are a few of these small churches there. This one was unique in that it had an unobstructed view. I don't know about the rest of BC, but they're not common in the places I've been. (It wouldn't surprise me to see them on the other Gulf Islands, though, but Salt Spring is the only one I've been on.)

Glad you returned to this lovely site. The FG cross is expertly used for comp. I am quite intrigued by that simple, star window that adds a great deal to the architecture of this little church. Imagine the loss if that weren't there. It looks HDR, but that is not a problem with this scene at all. Sure looks dry!

I really like the perspective of this taken with the TSE24ii. I've seen so many buildings that taper smaller at the top that with the shift correction, it looks as though it's reversed tapered. Quite striking. I've never bothered stopping at this church - my mistake.

Great use of the lens.

Rain - on Saltspring in the summer? June was wet here this year, and early July tried a repeat. Including the ferry ride, this church is about 44 km from where I live so the climates are quite similar. Temps have been in the low to mid 20's C for a month or so which is pretty typical - and it rarely rains much in July August and September.
