Port Aux Basques harbour is located on the Southwestern tip of Newfoundland. Fishing was the mainstay of Port aux Basques, its winter fishery being quite lucrative and one of the largest on the island before it was closed down due to a moratorium Because of its location and deep water, ice-free port, it is now the major entry point for goods and services entering the island of Newfoundland. I scout out this spot earlier in the day, and when I saw the sky start to clear at dusk I made a quick dash back to the location. Upon arriving, I was greeted with a most spectacular scene. It lasted only a moment, but I captured it for all to witness.

Great timing and great light just where you wanted it. Love the warmth of the town contrasting with the cool colors everywhere else. And you put the boats out there too? ;)

Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Rarely do I seek solace in this gallery. Glad I did this afternoon. Uncommonly well done, Chas.
