This was taken from the end of the Homers Spit near the lands End Hotel. I had an extra day in Homer after the Hallo Bay trip when everyone else had gone home. It rained most of the day but toward late afternoon it brightened up to dry overcast so I went out on the spit hoping to get gulls in flight. Unfortunately, none of the birds came close to shore, instead congregating further out on the water. The only time there was much action was when I fishing boat came motoring in and the gulls flew wildly then resettled. This was one of those times. I dont care for the pink bouy but am not good enough in PS to get rid of and this was a just for fun shot anyway.

You asked for gulls in flight... you got em! :) Way to make the best out of a challenging situation.

I thought the link thing was a lifesaver on the boat.

This is pretty neat to me! There's a lot to see in this photo---it tells a story. Like the pink buoy and the turquoise whatever in the cab.

I like the tiers to this - the gulls, the boat and water, and the mountain backdrop. Nice job with the gulls, a clean top and bottom to the the frame!
