Sigma 50-500, Sensia 100, f/8, shutter as metered.

While taking pictures at Myra Falls (Strathcona Park, Vancouver Island), I left Brierly tied to a tree. At one point I looked back to see this...

What a great shot!
Retrievers are such great models.
My 2 girls don't come out with me very often, I should bring them along, but they scare off the wildlife...

Great shot Paul. Mans best friend waiting patiently until its time to leave. This would make a great calendar shot or a framed picture on the wall.

Awwwww. Aw. Awww. Nice puppy. A peaceful portrait of a sleeping baby. (Well, it appears to be young as it sleeps anyway.) I think the dof is just right for this image.

Thanks all!

Ken: I just bought a printer a short time ago and this was the first print out of it. It's hanging on my office wall at work, where in the seven years I've been working here there hasn't been a picture before.

Steve: He doesn't come if I'm *looking* for wildlife. But this was a family vacation.

Juli: He's six years old, middle-aged in dog years.

Cheryl &DC. Pictures can be deceiving. Actually, my wife was holding on to him and watching our 2-yr old daughter, while I was working at the water's edge. Brierly was trying really hard to get to me (very impatiently) and she had to give up trying to hold him back (since she also had to keep Lauren away from the falls) and tied him up instead. It was actually my wife who noticed Brierly lying like this a bit later, and told me. As soon as I turned to look at him, though, he jumped up. I had to tell him to lie down again so I could get this shot!

This is a great shot. The weathered root next to your dog adds a lot, along with the rocks and greenery. What a nice image to have, glad to hear you have it in your office.
