Alqueva (an Arab name) is a small village in southern Portugal were a hugh dam was recently constructed. Once the reservoir is filled, it will be the biggest artificial lake in Europe with about 50 000 acres.
Under the water many nests from eagle owls, bonellies eagles, black stork will disappear. Also an small village "Aldeia da Luz" (village of the light) was relocated.
This is the ruin of an house disappearing under the waters.

Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Ditto. Too bad about the village and animals. "Progress" I guess... :(

The tones are wonderful! You've captured some powerful emotions here.

That one object is nicely placed between the reflections of the hills, but I wish the second object didn't merge with the background.

Hauntingly beautiful. A remarkable photo that tells the story even without your words.

Very strong, graphic image. I love the colors. A shame about all the lost homes though.

Of the two i think this is certainly the more moving image. The silhouette and fading colors do lend a haunting feel to the disappearing village.
