Alqueva (an Arab name) is a small village in southern Portugal were a hugh dam was recently constructed. Once the reservoir is filled, it will be the biggest artificial lake in Europe with about 50 000 acres.
Under the water many nests from eagle owls, bonellies eagles, black stork will disappear. Also an small village "Aldeia da Luz" (village of the light) was relocated. This is the ruin of an house disappearing under the waters. Thanks for looking and commenting. |
