This is very nice! Now what kind of duck is that? ;) I agree it's a little grainy, but not sure that is bothers me too much. I love the composition and the tones here.

Robert,

As soon as the new gallery was up I had to scramble to find the image I wanted to post. It had already been sized for the web, but because I have learned new PS skills since last processing it, I had to start over again. Didn't think I would have the honor of being first after all that, just luck I guess. :)

I see the noise too, but it's still a moody and wonderful image. Your pano presentation is really nice here. Well done!

Great shot Robert. I like how the duck "sort of" balances with the canoer. Maybe that looks like a kayak to me?

Definitely not a common shot though. I really like the colors and the pano crop and the noise does not bother me at all. I think it may enhance the moodiness of the image. Well done.

I think the "grain" is an attraction in this image rather than a detriment. I really like it a lot.

Very dramatic and moody image. My impression is that it is a rowboat and not either a canoe or kayak. Perhaps a loon? Good to leave some room for the imagination.

Lovely pano. I too find the grain adds to this shot rather than detracting from it.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Very nice. I'd agree with EJ that the grain adds to the shot. The colours are great, and I particularly like the bright wake.

But it's a rowing shell (which is different from a rowboat, even they both use oars), and definitely not a canoe or kayak (both of which use paddles).

This is gorgeous! The pano crop and the way the light reflects off of the wake of the craft, and the duck really works here.
Grain is a personal preference thing, I don't much like it myself, but it doesn't detract too much here.

That could be a merganser, bit too small to tell :)

The graininess gives this image an old tone, like a well-worn water color. I like it. Not sure what you could have done about this, but the tree on the right that is cut down the middle might balance the image more if the edges were a little darker like on the left hand side. Of course, PS could change that now. That was the first thought after taking in the overall tones.
