New Hard Drive

I am trying to find the largest HD I can install internally in my PC. I know Win 10 PRO has no problem but can't find any information on BIOS/Firmware issues.
My PC is a Dell XPS8920. I have the latest firmware and the system is from June 2017 and has a 7th Generation Intel(R) Core(T M) i7-7700K Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.5 GHz). I have a 4TB installed but want to go to either a 10 or 12TB. The specs on the system say 2TB is the largest but I replaced it with a 4TB and it is working fine.
I checked a brand new XPS8950 with 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-12700 processor (12-Core, 25MB Cache, 2.1GHz to 4.9GHz)and it says the same thing 2 TB.
I really don't think this is accurate but don't want to buy a drive I can't install.
Thanks for your help
