Post subject:  New Mac Mini

My apologies for all the questions, but I am considering a new Mac Mini as a cost-effective upgrade.  Does anyone here have any experience using the new M1 chipped Mini for photography?  Any issues with processing (RAM is limited to 16 Gb)?  Any issues with the graphics?

I have a 2008 30" Apple Cinema Display and 2010 a 24" Apple LED Cinema Display as my monitors.  I assume I will not be able to use these with the new Mini.

TIA

You should be able to drive the display via the Mac mini HDMI port using an adapter like this in theory...

If you get the correct Thunderbolt or USB C hub with a mini DP port you should be able to use the 24" Apple LED Display.
or you can try with a USB C adapter such as this one https://www.amazon.com/UPTab-USB-C-DisplayPort-Adapter-Silver/dp/B01N4FQNYW/ref=sr_1_3?crid=I160J1CL8P6D&dchild=1&keywords=thunderbolt+hub+mini+displayport&qid=1625499532&sprefix=thunderbolt+hub+mini%2Caps%2C373&sr=8-3

PS: I have a 24" Apple LED Display but I haven't tried this on the new M1 Mac Mini.

I've been using this adapter with a MacBook Pro and 24'' Apple Cinema Display, I guess it should work with a MacMini, too: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082KKJVGB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That won't drive 2010 monitors.  you need to adapt to Dual-link DVI

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean, but I'm using a 24'' Apple Cinema Display and this adapter works perfectly fine with a 2017 MacBook Pro (USB-C to mini display port).

The 30" Apple Cinema display from the first decade of the 2000's does not have a mini display port and USB-C hadn't been invented yet.

I see, I had to look up when those monitors were introduced, the 30'' Cinema Display was released in 2004 with DVI, the 24'' was introduced with mini Display Port in 2008 and both were discontinued in 2010, when the 27'' version was released.
