It is not for me but I may use it too.  I have Acronis but never used it on my old PC with Win 7.  With a faster PC and Win 10, I'll try Acronis.

But for someone who is not tech savvy and just wants a simple software that will clone a HDD, what is your recommendation?  It can be either free or a commercial product but has to be very easy to use.  Thanks.

I also use the free version of Macrium Reflect after E.J.'s recommendation a number of years back.

Goodsync is a good backup program but I don't believe that it's a cloning program. For cloning I use Macrium Reflect.

Thanks everyone for recommending the free version of Macrium Reflect. I have to ask, what makes this software that good? That it is all you need instead f Acronis or the Windows 10 cloning tool?

That is an easy one: it's free, it's reliable, and EJ recommended it. :D

I have had lots of problems with Acronis in the past and their support was awful. Now that is years ago. I found Macrium when I got fed up with Acronis and have never been let down by it.

My experience is the same as E.J.'s.  The moment I got Macrium I never used Acronis again.

Will Macrium Reflect wipe the hard drive on my computer after cloning to external SSD?  I have files backed up but would really like to clone my hard drive.

Thanks.  I have a copy of Acronis but may use Macrium Reflect instead. The easier to use, the better.  Now if you are having issues with Acronis, that says a lot.
