Maybe a dumb question but I’m really struggling with the above. Plenty with fan but I have always been under the impression that you don’t need to run an enclosed with fan if fitted with SSDs.
Any recommendations appreciated

I use a fanless case for a single 1 TB 2.5 inch SSD drive. It is made from aluminum and heat quickly dissipates. There are fanless cases made for dual NVME SSD drives. Here is one: ORICO Dual Bay Aluminum M.2 NVME SSD Enclosure. I saw it at NewEgg.
