Can any one tell me the differences between a WD Gold HD and a WD Ultrastar HD? The specs look virtually identical for similar capacity drives. Looking for best quality data storage HD. System drives are SSD drives. Thanks

Ultrastar is what they bought from HGST which were the best drives on the market, Gold is a product designed for the channel - basically computer makers putting drives in. So I would expect to get less documentation, maybe just a drive in a bag or plain box rather than full retail packaging, etc. it may well be that they are the same or very similar drives. Check the warranty between the two...
