I just used Cleanmymac 3 to see where the cache files were.  Library and a hidden folder called private.  I use High Sierra.  I assume any cleaning software will seek out all caches.

C1 stores this stuff in a sub folder of the folder that the images are in so if your photos are on an external drive, the caches will also be by default.

archfotos wrote:thanks for the responses however it's not that simple sure would be nice if software companies wouldn't litter their files all over the system's drive. C1 does store files within the Mac's library system.  Just not certain how to set it up as I had it before.

thanks again for the thoughts
Your best bet is to go to the Phase One support page and open a new case and ask the question there.  In my experience, they are very good at giving you real answers.  be very clear in what you are trying to do, not just asking where the files are stored.  It may take a couple of days for them to get back to you but they always do.
