I noticed this today, I hope phase one aren’t going to a subscription model like Adobe. I realize this offer is for students, but it might be a hint at a change.

PhaseOne has offered a subscription model for some time now. BUT, they still offer a perpetual license. Your choice.....

PhaseOne has offered a subscription or stand alone model for many years and they have committed publicly in writing to continue with the stand alone model.  I personally know a number of people at PhaseOne and I have asked this exact question many times to many people there and I always get the same answer "we plan to offer both purchasing models and have no plans to change this"

Great, thanks for the info. I was worried when I saw that link. I know an argument can be made for a monthly subscription model, but the thought of it turns me off.
