Are Waveforms Useful ?

Interesting video about Waveforms on DP Review. Chis suggests that waveforms are better than histograms and that they should be intergrated into all highend cameras. 
What's your take?

I agree with Chris; a few other people have also been advocating this for awhile now but it hasn't gotten a lot of traction as an idea in still photography.

The waveform's approach to visualizing tone across the frame provides more information, and in a more useful format, than the simpler histogram. I'd love to have a waveform visualizer in-camera and in Photoshop. There are many ways to visualize information, and we haven't had much innovation in the photo editing space for awhile now.

While I'm OK without them, I was OK without zebras before they appeared and now I sorely miss them in cameras that don't have them for still photography so any tool that is optional that can be useful is always welcome.
