In a workshop, Greg Downing showed me a neat PS trick which I wish I could remember. It was when using the HSL tab in ACR and it was a rather hidden way to find a tool/eyedropper that allowed you to click on a spot within the image itself to determine which of the HSL sliders would affect that specific colour, often more than one. This was very useful as it saved trying various sliders to see which ones would work on that colour. But I can’t remember how to do this. L Any help would be much appreciated.

Note, it was not just clicking on the eyedropper tool as is. Using this trick, the colour you clicked on in the image was reflected in the position of the little position arrow along the various sliders in HSL.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks.

Use the Targeted Adjustment Tool (Ctrl T) (circle with a cross beside it). With the HSL Adjustment panel open, click on the tone that you want to change and move the tool from side to side.

Yes! That is it! I thought it was but what I failed to do was then move the tool side to side so it was doing anything.

Thanks. And thanks to Bruce also. Useful video though it did not show the specific trick I was after.
