I have installed a Samsung 860EVO 1 GB SSD in my desktop. When I click on Computer it shows my other drives but does not show the new Samsung SSD. When I go to Control Panel > Device Manager it shows the new Samsung drive and says it is working fine.

How do I get my computer to recognize the drive so I can use it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Probably not picking it up when booting. Have you gone into the motherboard setup to see if it's available there?

Solution found due to good old YouTube. The problem was that the new SSD was unallocated. Here's a link to what I found and what fixed my problem if you are interested:

Maybe it is unformatted. If so:

Go to Windows' disk management control panel and find the new and unformatted disk. Create a new partition/volume and format the volume. The formatted volume should then appear as a disk under my computer.

In addition to the post above, you may have to right click on it in Disk Management and make it recognizable by the OS.  Additionally all Samsung drives require installation of Samsung's Disk Magician.
