This is probably not the right forum to ask such a question but we have so many talented people.  Does anyone know how to get windows to accept acrobat x pro as the default pdf viewer?  Only want to give me things like acrobat DC as an alternative to windows own viewer.

Another way to do it is to right click on a PDF file in Windows Explorer, select Open with > Other programs > check the Always Open with this program box and select Acrobat as the program.

I'll try again but when I do this, it does not give acrobat x pro as an option. Acrobat x pro is on the computer and runs but is not listed as an option with either of these methods.

I got it. You have to remove all traces of acrobat DC pro before you have acrobat x as an option. DC version never activated but auto installed by adobe. Can coexist with acrobat DC reader
