A recent update to LR placed the catalog on my destop. I would prefer it not be there but can't figure a way to move it. I tried documents but LR would not open unless I selected the catalog and clicked on it.
I also noticed the date filing has changed and now where the YY/MO/day shows 0 and then I open up a number of subfolders broken down showing month then day.

You can move the catalog to where you want it and then double click to open LR. It will remember where the catalog is.
But, unless you installed a completely new version of LR and inadvertently selected the desktop, a typical LR update doesn’t change the catalog location.
Can you describe in more detail exactly what you did?

New Problem: I just opened LR and the catalog is not the one I was using. It is an older catalog the one I was using should have a 2 in front of Icrat. That catalog has moved but I have no idea why or any idea where to find it.
