Lightroom/Canon DPP

I've been thinking about upgrading to Photoshop CC and the plan that is offered also comes with Lightroom. I've dabbled with Lightroom in the past a bit but have always just used the Canon DPP program to make minor adjustments and export as a TIFF to work on in Photoshop.
As I've been learning more about Luminosity masks over the past few months it seems that many of the tutorials include the use of Lightroom. So I downloaded the trial of Lightroom and have been testing it over the last few days.
What I'm finding is that when I compare the TIFF file generated by Lightroom to the one I generate from Canon DPP the colors are very different. I do NOT care for the Lightroom file at all. I'm not sure if there is a setting I am missing or if is just the difference in which the 2 programs handle the file.
I like some of the added flexibility that Lightroom provides but I can't see to get a TIFF file to look similar in color when I process it in Lightroom, no matter what adjustments I try to make. Also I don't want really want to spend additional time trying to get back to the color I can already get out of DPP almost automatically.
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experiences with this. Thanks, Aaron.
