any opinions on whether 27" or 32" screens are best for photoshop as well as word processing programs.  This is for a PC.  My current setup is two monitors.  27" and another 19"  with the smaller used for pallets and the larger for the image itself.

I like the 32's they are almost the same width as the 27's b but are taller making them better for vertical photos without having to rotate the monitor.

Of it were me, I'd get the BenQ for the reasons stated above.

I have a 30 inch NEC monitor that has a 16:10 ratio. This allows for taller verticals , other things being equal, than 16:9 ratio monitors. I am not sure if NEC makes a 30inch 16:10 monitor anymore. Nor do I know whether BenQ makes 16:10 monitors.

EJ is correct that vertical display height is important and I would try and get a monitor that gives you as much vertical height as possible.

When you look at each monitor's specs, look at screen size, without base and the vertical dimension can give you an approximate idea of vertical screen size. My understanding is that the vertical dimension includes the display's frame. Look at pictures to get an idea as to how much is taken up by the frame.

I also believe that a 16x10 screen ratio is an inportant consideration when selecting a monitor.

a quick look at bhphoto indicates that 16x10 selection is limited.  Dell is the only one that came up that still makes one at 30" which was the largest available.  the 32" at 16x9 has virtually the identical vertical screen height the extra 2" in size making up for the difference in aspect ration.

I have the same Black one too. Mine came with SpectraView and a NEC calibration puck.

NEC may have a white one fr sale: Not sure if the price includes SpectraView or not.

Thanks for the feed back. It clearly has been discontinued. Since the vertical dimension is the same, I'm inclined to go with something in current production.

Have you made your decision yet? I am looking for one as well - thinking about a 32" monitor.
Does anybody have thoughts on "ASUS ProArt PA32UC 32" 16:9 Wide Gamut IPS Monitor"?
