I am just learning Capture One 10-are the differences in Capture One 11 worth upgrading ?

Yes there quite a few very worthwhile improvements, not the least of which is the expanded use of layers.

The masking and layering tools are much better including feathering, opacity and refining

I've been using Capture One Pro 11 for a few weeks now, trying to decide if I'll make the switch from Lightroom.  I'm very impressed and will likely make the switch.  In particular, I find the local adjustment tool significantly better in C1 than LR, especially when it comes to auto masking and overall responsiveness.  And then overall speed and performance in general is significantly better.  I regularly have to wait literally 1 to 5 minutes for some LR collections to load. 

Only downside I see with C1 is the weaker integration with PS compared to LR (though I don't have to use it nearly as often with C1 as I did with LR), lack of HDR and panos, and the lack of export plugins like auto publishing to the web.  I still need to find the right workflow to get stuff to the web easily.
