A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, thereby, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety. ~Ansel Adams

Great, if you know of anyone else that would be interested, have them post here.
As I believe we need at least 10-15 people to start a chapter.

I'll add my very high level of interest in seeing this get started! I have experience as an admin and moderator on other discussion sites and would be glad to volunteer for whatever is needed.

Thanks Brian, your experience will be welcomed, as I have none as an admin or moderator. :D

For anyone who has concerns about being a moderator, there are some tips that might lessen your concerns, no matter what kind of discussion site we're talking about:

1. Walk softly! Most threads will never need intervention from a mod.

2. When discussions turn heated, do NOT get personally involved or take sides. You cannot be a participant in the anger. Calm approaches tend to work best.

3. Do not call anyone out in public. A warning post that alerts EVERYONE that things need to calm down is better than a post that is directed towards one individual. You can email the "offender" privately. This keeps egos from getting in the way of common courtesy.

4. Always serve as a role model in your own posting.

5. Be fair and consistent in your moderating so that people know what to expect.

That's really about it as far as the basics of being a moderator. It is mainly a thankless job, but a very important one in keeping things civil. Your best days are the ones where you don't have to do anything!

I don't know if this idea is still alive, but I would be curious to learn more about a Rocky Mountain chapter... I live in Salt Lake City.

Let's get this chapter on the board. I live in Utah and would love to have a place we can discuss the Rocky's. The Rocky's have so many photos ops, let the photos begin!
