Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Landscapes Gallery, week ending 28th December, 2012!hey guys,

since this year is coming to an end i thought i'd say thank you to you guys here! i wish y'all all the best for the next year! i'm looking forward to another year of viewing great images on this forum! thank you very much for all your comments and support in the past - you guys rock!

it has been a great year and i've seen so many beautiful places. it was still quite easy for me to choose MY photo moment of 2012..

this image was taken in september on the famous beach at jökulsárlón in iceland. ...what an unforgettable night!

the image is a blend of 2 exposures to achieve acceptable focus at f2.8. you can read more about the image and the technique on my blog.

Canon 5DMKII, Nikon 14-24 @ 14mm
ISO 1600, f/2.8, 30 seconds
two exposures blended for DOF and DR, processed in LR and PS

thanks for taking the time to look!
c&c are very welcome,
joerg

I can see why you had no trouble choosing your moment of the year. The green in the ice is brilliant.

This is absolutely stunning Joerg! The sky is just amazing and the way that the iceberg picks up the colour just tops it off, really well done!

No fair, you are in this part of the world capturing all that beauty and we are far away struggling to find beauty where we live, i think i have to put Iceland to my must-visit list for landscapes.

No comment on that shot because it is un-describable.
