Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Birds Gallery, week ending 7th December, 2012!A Grasshopper Sparrow in early morning light from a local nature preserve, Its an amazing place as its planted in wildflowers and the perch settings can be quite spectacular here. Wonderful image Daniel! I love the perch, singing pose and details.
I love sparrows and am hoping to work on getting some good images of them this winter.

Love it too.. my favorite sparrow image yet in the motif.. I never thought a single flower could work, as the ones around here in NY always seem to big for the bird, but this just rocks..

Awesome shot Dan! Beautiful warm light on the bird and perch and the colors of the bg compliment the scene very well. Congrats on getting this shy little bird.

This looks like the best of set-ups. The fact that you got this perfect perch and background along with the great singing pose in the wild is awesome.
