Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Landscapes Gallery, week ending 2nd November, 2012!A fresh morning with good cloud cover. It had been raining at dawn so I ventured out early morning while the light was still interesting. I have been spending the week at the Gower Peninsula and have been getting used to my new 1dx. Really impressed with this image quality with this camera, was surprised how much better it performed than my 1ds III.

I like the full tonal range and composition -- the bright cloud makes the shot for me. Shooting 1dx must also be much different from iPhonography. ;)

Great foreground and sky. The waves could have some more contrast to show the microdetail in there.

Thanks for the IOW. I'm reprocessing the image now for a large print. Theres lots of more highlight detail in the RAW image so should sort out those hot areas very easily.

The image is pretty good, however you can enhance its beauty by editing and using more shades of monochrome.
