Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Landscapes Gallery, week ending 12th October, 2012!hi folks,

here's another image of a location that i had not been able to visit during my first stay in patagonia. looking up to fitz roy from the valley directly below.

i chose a long shutter speed to blur the fast moving clouds… had been thinking about blending in a shorter exposure of the stream but i actually really liked the extra soft feel of the water.

two exposures blended for DR, processed in LR and PS (TKs luminosity masks)

thanks for taking the time to look!
c&c are very welcome,

Wow Joerg--this is out of this world!! There's so much to attract the eye it's difficult to determine where to begin. In a rush this morning . but I'm definitely up for a second look on this one later!

Super nice image, great exposure, clarity, color, etc...

I find myself wishing there was more room up top. The image has an overall constrained feeling with the 50/50 composition.

Lovely composition and capture - details looks very nice. My only nit (personal taste) is that the water seems overly silky.

This is great Joerg. I love the sweeping effect provided by the mountains and water that lead the viewer into the image. Great textures, perspective, and detail. Nice work!

Definitely off the beaten track view -- rather funnel like, pointed to the glacier and sky. I like the effect of the long exposure on the clouds, but I think the water would benefit from a shorter exposure time (a matter of taste I realize.) :)

This one is on a short list of the best landscape images that I have ever seen. Your post processing work is truly outstanding.

A strong and dynamic composition for me, Joerg, consistent with this impressive scene. You lead my attention into the disctance, while the foreground rocks give me an immediate feel of the atmosphere.

Georgeous, Jeorg. And stunning scene and light. If I were to crit... I might consider a portrait orientation, and loose the lt rock in the corner.... then get more of that beautiful sky. The shutter speed suggestion is a good one, but not much of an issue to me. Nice work.

Oh wow, this is fantastic. I wonder if you took one with a faster shutter speed to retain just a little tiny bit of structure in the water.
