Although this is more of an environmental topic, it shows how plastic pollution affect the very subjects we photograph and their environment. This includes seabirds, turtles, fishes and other underwater life, as well as many land animals.

I would venture to say that most people are unaware of how badly we are damaging the planet with plastic waste.

Having seen it first hand on Midway Atoll, and what is inside dead bird's stomachs I completely changed my consumption and recycling habits.  That was in 2008.  Midway isn't that far from the Pacific Garbage patch.
