He almost lost that Drone,,, this is great and apparently it can be viewed close up on foot if you get to Iceland. A lot of photographers are heading that way....

I think that volcanic eruptions canyons and glacier lagoons are what drones are made of.  It's a shame they weren't available when I visited the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in 2010.

It wouldn't be that hard to make a heat shield to protect the drones , all that is needed is a reflective layer which could be made from thin stainless steel sitting below the vital parts of the drone with an air gap between the shield and the drone itself. This would cut out around 90% of the heat flux. The blades I would assume would cool from rotation.
