I got my NPS renewal yesterday; in the past all tiers were free and which tier you fell in was based on the gear you owned.  This has changed.  You now can only qualify for the basic service for free regardless of how much equipment you owe.  The Basic plan, that is still free, gets you priority purchase, priority repair service, and access to webinars, educational materials, etc.  The biggest change is that Basic plan members now pay full price for repairs rather than the discounted rate of the past.

If you need loaner equipment, free clean and check, discounts on repairs, 10% purchase discount, you now must stp up to either a $150 Pro membership or a $300 Platinum membership.

I guess it was inevitable since everyone else already charges for professional services.  Sony is now the best deal at $100 for a full everything included membership and Fuji is still the outlier at $400 for full services.  Everyone else falls somewhere in between for a premium membership.
