Yes, very sad but perhaps not unexpected. Anyone growing up in the 1960s-80s looked forward with great excitement to Photokina. I remember having to then wait until Amateur Photographer published what was at the show but image two years' worth of new gear in one go! No time-wasting rumors, no pre-announcements just lots of amazing products from all the players. I was a gear-head back then.

I always wanted to go to Photokina so I hope it comes back in some form...
