New scanners at airports may ruin undeveloped film. I’m presuming this is accurate, but haven’t verified it.

This is nothing new. I use to put all my film into x ray proof bags to keep it from getting fogged by repeatedly being x rayed when flying.

Hi,

I used to put my film canisters in a clear ziplock bag and would have them inspected by hand.

Have Fun,

While it’s true that you could place film in a lead bag to protect it before, the article says that those bags won’t protect film from this machine, which is said to be like scanning your film a thousand times the old way. In my workshops in the ‘90s, I used to teach about protecting film when flying. I also recommended having film hand inspected, but some people at the airports used to refuse to do that. Anyway, this only applies to a very limited number of people.
