Edith cavell road

Well...after 2 years, finally some good news.

It is anticipated that the Edith Cavell road will reopen on June 12th....weather permitting.

The access permit was a bit of an annoyance, since you had to line up at the visitor's centre in the morning to get one... (At least in 2017--I don't think I went up there last year.)

Is the parking area bigger now?

And let's not forget the reason for the upgrades--the tidal wave that did significant damage a few years ago. I think we were exceptionally fortunate that it happened at night--many people would have died had it occurred on a hot summer weekend! Just one more thing to think about any time you hike in a valley with a glacier overhanging a lake at the top...

To answer my own question:  yes, it's much larger now.

No...that was only in place for 2017
