Hi:

I will be in Oregon later this week and would like some advice on places to go to photograph wildlife, especially water birds. I expect to be in the area around Bend for a few days. Other than that I am pretty much open on where to go, but prefer to stick to the western part of the state; from the Cascades to the Coast.

I live in Bend...if birds are what you want, locally woodpeckers and owls are a good choice.  Most of Oregon's birds (except for seabirds) are to the east where the Pacific flyway is.  Malheur NW and Summer lake are world famous for water birds.  Lots of forest birds are in the Bend area with the Cabin Lake blinds good for photoing.
