Has anybody here done any photography in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories?  I am going there soon to see the aurora, but I would also love to see some wildlife.  Did some brief research the other day and it looks like Muskox, Moose, and Caribou are not that far.  Has anybody done wildlife photography up here and have some advice about locating the animals?

Went to Yellowknife in 2015 for the aurora and drove around quite a bit during the day and night which gets kind of expensive since at least our rental didn't have unlimited mileage.  However, figured won't be going back. Had a spectacular aurora and drove up and down the Pontoon Lake region (this was October) and hiked on the Ingraham Trail. Often at night my wife and I would be the only ones out shooting the aurora where we were, an awesome experience.  Did see a fox, snow buntings and a Northern Hawk owl but no moose or muskox (think only a statue of a muskox is there) or caribou (think the Caribou are much earlier, like September).  We also drove all the way to Fort Providence to see the Wood Bison (the largest terrestrial animal in North America).  We hiked around a bit in the area with the Mackenzie population of wood bison since there had been reports of wolves in the area.  Not sure how the wood bison are doing these days so not sure it is worth the drive (it is a bit far but a beautiful drive).  There is also a spectacular bridge in Fort Providence which would have made a great backdrop for the aurora though the night we stayed there the aurora was very weak.  Let me know if you have any questions.
