We were one of the last clients to stay at Birdwatcher's last January as it was closing although potential buyers were mentioned. Anyone know if it has reopened or not? Can't tell from the website but I believe it is defunct.

The visitors center at Bosque just told me that, as far as they know, they are still closed and up for sale. I have a friend who runs a nice B&B in San Antonio. I can get you info on that, if you may be interested.
Edit:  For all who may be interested, here is more info:

Phil Norton was the refuge manager at Bosque for a good while(14 years) and is a super guy. I highly recommend this place to anybody. Just read the reviews on the Trip Advisor site.
