This image was taken in August. She is the Lady of "our" nest. (See posted on Birds.)
Yesterday I heard from a friend that she was spotted in Argentina. Argentina!!!
The friend contacted the guy who banded (ringed) our female bird at Luther Marsh, about 20 km upriver from where they built the nest and he confirmed the sightings.
It made the news.
This is the same nest where due to our intervention one of the chicks got caught in a disintegrating plastic rope and was destined to die just like the other chick hanging down from the nest, dead.
My wife phoned around and eventually found the right authorities
whom the nesting post and the area belonged. They come out with a crane, and a chair lift that electricians use and freed up the chicks and cleaned the nest as well. The Lady of the nest is about six years old and makes the journey every year and ends at the same spot.
Birds are amazing.

This is so cool!! It is truly amazing how birds, butterflies and others make these long journeys to exact coordinates and I sometimes forget where I am going after I get in the car!! Thanks for posting this.
