From the USGS volcano site on Kilauea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii, https://volcanoes.usgs.gov/volcanoes/ki ... ology.html .

This time lapse video with about 1 photo per day from April 14, 2018 to July 11, 2018 shows the dramatic change in size and shape of the crater since the recent volcanic activity. In the original shot the crater is approximately 6/10 mile in diameter and was this way for many years. Currently it is several times that size and the volume is 7 times larger!

I have a friend who was displaced by the volcanoes that works for the USGS.  She has been posting incredible stuff on FB from numerous contributors.  Just google around and there is some insane footage out there that really drives home what is happening there.  Many of the places I have visited and photographed don't exist anymore.

Most of my friends from my time living on the Big Island are on the Kona coast and suffering the effects of greatly increased VOG/volcanic smog from this recent activity as the VOG tends to blow west to the Kona coast. The VOG was already bad when I moved back to the mainland in 2013 and one of the reasons I had to make the move as my lungs were too heavily impacted. I remember the Halema'uma'u crater from many trips there, and the change now is astounding to me. I've parked and stood where the ground is no more - but now inside the crater.

Some of the best video I've seen of the recent activity and flows is at:    http://www.tropicalvisions.com
I've posted that link before, they do almost daily overflight video in conjunction with the Paradise Helicopters company.

The video is fascinating like a Nat Geo show, but at the same time of course a whole lot of people have been displaced and severely impacted by this dramatic earth change. Mother earth is truly in charge.
