Inspirational Movie

I bought the DVD some time ago but didn't have the time to watch it, until recently.  It had a limited release in theatres in early 2013 but went straight to digital release soon after.  It only runs an hour long but is one of the more inspiring birding movies I've watched.  This is more than just about birding as the sentiments expressed by the various people interviewed, are easy to relate for anyone who photographs birds or wildlife.  Given the 60 minute length, it's more documentary than movie.  "Birders: The Central Park Effect" is well worth the watch.  With so many distractions to occupy my time these days, I don't have as much patience to sit through a long movie as I used to, so this one just hits the spot.

The additional interviews in the DVD are really worth watching too.

I've been to New York except never to Central Park but it seems like a must visit for birds.  The movie opens with a scene of birder/photographers with some serious looking camera gear.

Watched a new documentary profiling wolverines on the CBC's Nature of Things. The wolverine in Canada is one of the most elusive animals to see in the wild.  After you watch the effort that it took to film them, you'll understand why.  The wildlife filmmaker was also able to capture the only footage ever taken of a wolverine baby in the wild.

Wolverine.  Ghost of the Northern Forest.

PS.  I've updated the thread on winter owls.
