Over the past 15 years I have generally stopped for a day or two in Port Aransas to photo from the boardwalk. I do understand that there are a myriad of more important issues related to Hurricane Harvey than this one but does anyone know if the boardwalk there survived the storm?

Joseph, I do not know. Google "harvey port aransas boardwalk status" look at the pictures and see if you can find it.

My guess is that it got damaged, how much I do not know. You could post the same question under Texas Forum and see if anybody responds there.

I live in Rockport and my wife and I evacuated the day before Harvey hit. We went back for a few hours earlier this week. Our house received only minor damage but our yard/trees are a mess. We drove around Rockport a little. What a mess. Huge numbers of trees are down. Properties next to the Intracoastal Waterway were badly damaged. Rockport had "only" 125 mph winds. Port A had winds over 130.
I bet Port A is worse.

We plan to go home permanently later this week when all utilities are restored. I will go over to Port A as soon as conditions allow and report back here.

A friend found this. If you know where to look you can see the PA Birding Center. Looks like it was badly damaged.

Thanks Bruce. Sorry to hear about your travails and for what happened to your community.
As I view the satellite images it appears that the distal half of the boardwalk has disappeared. Also I see that quite a few folks did not or could not get their RVs out of the two RV parks in town and paid the price for it. Very sad.
