If I could choose one lens for landscape photography, I would choose (think in full frame terms):
10mm  0%  [ 0 ]
12mm  0%  [ 0 ]
15mm  4%  [ 3 ]
18mm  9%  [ 7 ]
21mm  22%  [ 17 ]
24mm  43%  [ 33 ]
28mm  3%  [ 2 ]
35mm  9%  [ 7 ]
50mm  7%  [ 5 ]
85mm  3%  [ 2 ]
135mm  0%  [ 0 ]

For fun, here's a poll - we haven't had those in a while.

Since stitching available, my answer today (50mm) is quite different than it would have been a few years back (24mm)

For a single one frame image I chose the 24mm, but as prariewing mentioned with the advent of stitching and multiple images combined, I would chose something also in the 50-70mm range (shot vertically) for the stitched images.

I love m 24-70, my go to lens. It gets me through so many of my shoots. I love all my lenses equally of course ;-) but the 24-70 is the bomb!

Why a list of just 'short' lenses? The 70-200mm maybe the most use landscape lens out there, and for those interested in a narrower point of view, to shoot the moon, for instance, longer than 200mm is often better!

Zoom lenses were purposely excluded as it gives absolutely no info on the most popular focal lengths.  Unfortunately the poll only allows 100 characters.  What I originally wrote but it got kicked out was a question about which single focal length lens, if you could choose only one, would you use.

Gosh, almost impossible to say. Used to, I shot large scale scenics of the sunrise/sunset on my Florida beaches, using super wide zoom -14-24. I find that now my interest lies more in telephoto "intimate" landscapes where I usually use my 80-400. I find that I use my 24-70 more than I used to, but it's still my least used landscape lens. My Tamron 180 Macro is my least used leans overall.

If you would like to see what focal length you use the most, even with zooms, try Jeffrey Friedle’s “Focal Length Sort” plugin for Lightroom.

Focal Length Sort

You can use other metadata to refine your sort, Date, Camera, Lens etc.

Interesting that only 2 people, and one of them being me, selected 28mm. I selected it because if I do a search of all my landscape photos ever taken, more of them are taken around this focal length than anything else. But 28mm is BY FAR the most used "equivalent" focal length on Earth - the iPhone is a 28mm equivalent focal length :D

24mm PC-E. I use it all the time.
