I would like to visit Alaska for approx. a month this bear season (brown bear), I plan to attend alone and not part of an organized tour. Where is the best place to go to photography bears without a guide? I have previous experience with bears and understand safety precautions.

Moose: I'm envious...

Some years ago, I had great views of black bears at Anan Creek (near Ketchikan) and grizzly bears at Pack Creek on Admiralty Island.

Good luck!
