NATURE
PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP AND TOUR LISTSINGS
| Tom Vezo - Galapagos Islands |
• July 23, 2008 to August 2, 2008
• Limited to 14 participants.
• Photoshop instruction provided.
|
Join Tom Vezo and Yann Nicholas on an incredible photographic journey to the Galapagos Islands and visit about 8 unusual islands each having different species of wildlife that you can walk right up to and photograph. There is no better place for you to learn my photographic techniques in the field and then return to the boat for critiques.
Tom's experience in the Galapagos was beyond his expectations and was one of the two journeys he took years ago that completely changed his life. The Galapagos Islands are uninhabited and the wildlife has never been hunted; therefore, they have no fear of humans. The intimacy he felt with these animals was overwhelming since they allowed him to get close. It was beyond what he was used to anywhere else in the field. The photography is amazing.
The boat we will be sailing on is called the Beluga. It has been chartered by Distinctive Journeys many times for photographic groups. The staff and guides understand the special needs of photographers, and they make every effort to provide a wonderful experience. This is also a perfect opportunity for non photographic companions to join. They can choose to participate with our group, or enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Galapagos Islands at their own pace, or with one of the guides.
Come join us on this wonderful photographic journey! www.tomvezo.com

Jasper Doest Photography |
|
Join
wildlife photographer Jasper Doest on one of his amazing wildlife adventures
to the high arctic of Svalbard (Spitzbergen). This workshop will cover
most aspects of nature photography, including landscapes, arctic flora
and wildlife photography.
During
these workshops you’ll gradually learn more about the ways you should
approach a subject, the ways to deal with ever changing light situations,
creating story-telling images, the use of flash and much more.
Overcast
situations are fairly common this far north. But when the midnight sun
is out, it will provide plenty of warm sweet light for long days of photography.
These
tours are suitable for all levels of photographic experience. Due to the
fragile environment there will be only place for three participants each
workshop. This way you’ll receive tuition at a personal level to
ensure you get the most out of the workshops.
For
more detailed information, as well as how to sing up, visit Jasper’s
website at www.Doest-Photography.com
or send an email to info@doest-photography.com.

July 22-29, 2007 $2,595 US (additional $350 for single supplement)
Join
photographers Scott Leslie and Paula Leslie as we journey to the majestic
island of Newfoundland to capture wonderful photographs of North Atlantic
seabirds. We live in Atlantic Canada and have been coming to this spectacular
province to photograph seabirds since the 1980’s. Experience some
of the most accessible, yet awesomely beautiful seabird colonies found
anywhere in the world where we’ll capture stunning close-up images
of Atlantic Puffins, Northern Gannets, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Black
Guillemots, and Common Murres, among others.
The world’s 13th largest island, Newfoundland is also rich in other
wildlife including Moose and the most southerly herd of woodland caribou
(10,000 strong). It possesses sweeping dramatic landscapes reminiscent
of the wildest parts of Ireland and a colorful culture unlike anywhere
else in North America.
Throughout the tour we’ll concentrate getting the best photographs
of seabirds. Of course, along the way there’ll be lots of other
fascinating subjects for our cameras, as well. Our schedule will be flexible
to allow our small group to take advantage of the best shooting conditions.
As the Newfoundlanders say: “Newfoundland is the far east of the
western world”.
