This compact leveling base offers a great alternative to larger leveling bases for traveling or for hiking.

Unlike larger leveling bases, it has a side clamp instead of a handle underneath, allowing you to get your tripod very low to the ground.

With a leveling base, you no longer have to try to level your camera with frustrating, minute tripod leg adjustments. Just set up the tripod and easily level your lens using the attached clamp and built in bubble level.

You can mount your Wimberley Head, ballhead, or other tripod head to the wide platform for solid support. The 438 also has 3 anti-twist set screws for further stability.

The 438 works with 3, 4, and 5 series tripods, fits Systematic tripods, is only 2" high, and offers 10° movement. Its maximum load is rated at 33.1 pounds.

Note: Manfrotto has changed the model number of this base from 3502 to 438. All specs remain the same.
