BLINDS FOR NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY

Blinds are often helpful in the pursuit of wildlife photographs. But what blind is right for you?



If you need something compact and lightweight to carry long distances, only require a temporary setup, and/or need to be mobile once you are setup, your best option is a throw blind, also known as a bag blind. NatureScapes.Net carries Kwik Camo blinds in two different weights for varying temperatures. Each of the Kwik Camo blinds comes with a carry pack with waist strap.



For more permanent setups, or when you are sharing the blind with another photographer, or you just want more spacee inside the blind to move around, Ameristep brand Doghouse and Outhouse version portable blinds are among the most popular used by nature photographers. With multiple openings that can be zipped closed for better concealment, both of these models are offered in varying camouflage patterns with an optional Snow Tangle cover for photographers working in the snow. The blinds collapse into a relatively compact disk shape to pack into a carrying case with its own backpack-type straps for easier carrying.

	KWIK CAMO PHOTOGRAPHY BLIND The Kwik Camo bag blind is available in both heavyweight and lightweight fabric for different teperature ranges. Each of these blinds features a Velcro front for easy setup, a camo netting window for viewing or a zipper if you prefer an unobstructed view, a Velcro-closed slot should you wish to setup flash outside the blind, and small openings at the sides so you can use your hands outside the blind when needed. These blinds are extremely portable and can be used seated or standing.
	AMERISTEP DOGHOUSE BLIND Perfect for one or two photographers working while seated, the Doghouse Blind is a fantastic solution for a movable backyard blind. Its dimensions are 60" square by 68" tall with a spring steel frame. Note that the footprint of the Doghouse and Outhouse Blinds is the same. Packed, this blind is 24" in diameter by 2" thick and weighs 14 pounds. 	AMERISTEP OUTHOUSE BLIND Perfect for one photographer working while seated, but two seated people could fit if needed. The Ameristep Outhouse Blind is lighter in weight compared to the Doghouse version and a more portable option for one photographer on longer hikes at 68" square, 78" tall with a spring steel frame. Note that the footprint of the Doghouse and Outhouse Blinds is the same. Packed, this blind is 27" in diameter by 2" thick and weighs 7.3 pounds. It features four windows and window tie-downs.
