I have had my 5540 (same as 5541) for about 3 years. This think is a brute. I am shooting a 400MM 2.8 and a Wemberly head. These are the gold standard when it comes to shooting surf photos. The legs are extremely rigid which is a must when shooting 2X and 1.4 Extenders. I can shoot at almost 1200MM with minimal lense shake. Love the finish and durability. Definitely worth the extra money. Not worth skimping and then upgrading later.
