I cannot say enough good things about the Op/Tech Pro Strap I purchased a few weeks ago. I had a previous version of the Op/Tech strap on a different camera. The curve of the strap is what drew me to this one. Makes all the difference, especially if you are carrying a camera with a long tele lens.

This plate fits Nikon lenses 500 f4 AFS I & II, 500 VR and 200-400 VR.

Nikon's large AF-S lenses have tall mounting feet, making them lenses top heavy, difficult to pack and hard to fully balance them on a Wimberley tripod head. Fortunately, these feet are easily removed. Wimberley offers special plates that replace the feet of these lenses and also serve as the Arca-Swiss style quick-release plate for the lens. These adapter plates reduce the weight and bulk of your lens and, more importantly, lower the center of gravity of the lens, thus making the lens easier to handle.

These adapter plates are custom designed to fit their designated lens. They have the same dual safety stops found on Wimberley quick- release plates and are milled to accept Wimberley, RRS, and Kirk flash brackets. The plates have 1/4 and 3/8 tapped holes in them for mounting to other tripod heads or monopods. All tools needed to remove your existing lens foot are included.

The AP-553 lowers the overall height of the 500 f4 lens by about 2; the 200-400 f4 by about 1.25". Please note that this particular plate mounts so close to the lens that it is difficult to use the plate as a handle.

For another option, please consider the AP-554.

Includes a 5 year warranty. Please see the Specifications tab below for additional information and training videos.

Due to the manufacturer's policy, Wimberley brand products are not eligible for promotional discounts or coupon codes.
